DOUGLAS MacCALLUM Obituary

Douglas C. MacCallum, Sr., died May 2, 2000 at the VanDyke Manor Nursing Home in Ridgewood, NJ. He was 97 years old. Mr. MacCallum was born July 10, 1902 in New York City to the late Harry and Agnes (Curtis) MacCallum. He attended High School in Yonkers and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from N.Y.U. Mr. MacCallum was a Stock Broker and worked for G.H. Walker and Company and was then a Vice-President of Prudential Securities. Mr. MacCallum was a member and Chairman of the White Plains Republican City Committee and also served as County Leader and Chairman of the Westchester County Republican Committee. He served two terms as a White Plains City Coiuncilman from 1955 to 1963. He was a member of Westchester Hills Golf Club. Mr. MacCallum was also on the Board of Trustees of the New York State Power Authority. He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in White Plains. Mr. MacCallum is survived by his son, Douglas C. MacCallum, Jr., and his wife Elizabeth, of Wyckoff, NJ, 3 granddaughters: Jane Elizabeth Preziosi, Lisa Ann Miller and Martha Bowes Gregory and 7 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife E. Claire (Mersereau) who died November 7, 1982. Visiting at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Services will be held at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 250 Bryant Avenue, White Plains, on Friday at 10:30am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
