EDWARD J. HOBBS

Edward J. Hobbs a life long resident of Garnerville died Sunday September 27, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 90. Edward was born on Christmas Day at home in Garnerville to his parents Edward J. and Katherine (Butler) Hobbs. Edward served in the United States Army during WWII fighting in 5 invasions, North Africa, South France, Italy (2), and Sicily. After the war he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving until his retirement and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After his military career Edward worked until his retirement for Wilcox & Gibbs in Nyack. Edward is survived by his son Timothy J. Hobbs, D.D.S., Colonel United States Army Retired of El Paso, Texas, niece Claire and her husband Fred Odell of Stony Point, nephews C. Edward Odell and Garland Wayne Odell. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews Fred III, Frederick "Eric" IV, Jessica and Salvatore "Sammy". Friends are invited to attend Edward's graveside service and military honors on Thursday at 11:00AM in the F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery. T.J.
