EDWARD MORAN Obituary

Edward F. Moran of Yonkers Died on Monday April 13, 2009 at age 95. Born on July 16, 1913 to John and Nora (Gleeson) Moran in Westport, Ct. Mr. Moran worked as the produce manager for various A & P loca tions in Yonkers for over 50 years retiring in 1978. On January 29, 1949, he married his loving wife Carol Twitchell in Yonkers; she survives. Edward was a parishio ner of Sacred Heart Church. He also retired was a retired Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army, where he received the European Service Medal, Bronze star Medal and American Service Medal. He served in Nor mandy, Sicily and Northern France. Mr. Moran was a Life Master Bridge Player. He served as Director of both Mt. Vernon and Yonkers Bridge Clubs and played in local and national tour naments. He is survived by his two loving children; Margaret (Peggy) Moran of New York City and Edward Moran of Yonkers; his cherished granddaughter Caroline. He is also survived by his beloved two sisters Sr. Mary Agatha Moran (S.J.) of West Hartford and Evelyn Foglio of Manchester, CT. He was prede ceased by his two brothers John and Thomas Moran. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & ball Funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 Pm. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred heart church on Friday April 17th at 9:30 AM.
