EDWARD STEADMAN Obituary

Edward L. Steadman, a longtime Mount Vernon resident, passed Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the age of 82. He was born March 18, 1918 to Willa Mae Marshall and Isaiha Steadman in Augusta, GA. After moving to New York, he attended the New York City Public School System and worked for the NYC Department of Highway for over 30 years before retiring. A family man, Mr. Steadman loved fishing, horseshoes, the Mets and was a generous contributor of the Democratic party. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Thelma; four sons, Edward Jr., Gene, Reginald, and Raymond; one daughter, Doreen Leary; two brothers, Joseph and Arthur; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service Monday, March 19, 2001 at 8 pm at Camelot Funeral Home, Inc, 174 Stevens Avenue, Mt. Vernon, NY. The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 8 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
