Life on earth is limited but eternal life with our Father, Limitless... As we shed tears in your transition, our Spirits rejoice with you as your journey here has ended victoriously...and you Edwin are Home. I remember our families years ago growing up in Michigan and then worshiping and serving at the Bronx Church. Will miss your uniquely-gifted delivery of the Word; the way you cared for others and that particular smile. Thank you especially for your ministry to our family during a very difficult time. All will be missed but we will “Meet you in the morning”. To the Family my sincere condolences to each of you. We pray for God’s comfort and peace as you journey through this time of loss. I am going to miss my phone calls, texts and the visit you were promising Kenny and I. One thing is for sure I will see you again. I can truly say that you lived the life you preached. Jesus said, "Everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die". For this reason I am convinced that our Bishop is simply resting and anticipating the coming of our Lord. He has gone before us but he has planted the seeds of righteousness in our hearts. He has given good counsel as a steward in the Lord's kingdom. Let us remember his life as an example as we press towards the mark of the higher calling which is in Christ Jesus. Only what is done for Christ will last. "Bishop Newkirt, you may be gone, but you will never never be forgotten".

Sorry to hear of Ed’s passing, he was always one of my favorite customers for the 25 years I delivered to 1 Barker for UPS. He, as well his entire family had my utmost respect, he will be missed.
