ELSIE SHEA Obituary

Elsie Shea died peacefully on May 26, 2008 at St. John's Riverside Hospital. Born in Torrington, CT. on December 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Mlynar; she lived in Yonkers, NY for most of her life. She was the loving wife of Augustine (Gus) Shea, who predeceased her. Elsie was a dedicated homemaker who was well known for her cooking skills and her love of shopping. She was kind and generous, always helping out her family members and friends. She took great pride in caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Reutter and Nancy Bruno, her daughter-in-law Pauline Reutter, her sister Ruth (George) Spear, and many nieces and nephews. Elsie was the loving grandmother of June LoCascio, Dawn Cropsey, Glenn Reutter and Wendy Bruno. She was the cherished great-grandmother of eight great-grangchildren. She was predeceased by her son Howard Reutter. Elsie leaves behind her extended family of residents and caring, dedicated staff at the Classic Residence Memory Unit by Hyatt in Yonkers, where she resided for hte past six years and was affectionately known as "Cookie". Friends and family may call at Flynn Memorial Home, Friday 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Hudson Valley/Rockland/Westchester NY Chapter, P.O. Box 9 White Plains, NY 10602-009.
