Ercole Alfio DeBenedictis

Eastchester - Ercole Alfio DeBenedictis, 86, of Eastchester, N.Y., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 12, 2021. Alfio was born on November 3, 1934 to Giuseppe and Eufamia Maria in Rosciolo dei Marsi (Abruzzo), Italy. On July 20, 1963, Alfio married Rose Marie Mercurio. They settled in Mount Vernon, NY, where they started their family, and later moved to Eastchester, N.Y. where they raised their four children. Alfio established a general contracting business, building homes throughout Westchester. He was a successful business man who later helped his children launch a food import business. Alfio was a dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather; his family was his greatest treasure.



Alfio was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose, and is reunited with her once again. He is survived by one sister and 2 brothers; his children, Roseann Angarola and her husband Anthony, Laura Covais and her husband John, Joseph DeBenedictis and his wife Marci, and Robert DeBenedictis; and his ten grandchildren that he adored; Nicholas Covais, Alexandra DeBenedictis, Brianna Covais, Ashley Angarola, Matthew Angarola, Michael Covais, Victoria DeBenedictis, Dominick DeBenedictis, Julia DeBenedictis, and Robert DeBenedictis. He is predeceased by one brother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Avenue, Scarsdale, NY. The funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 8 Carman Avenue, Scarsdale, N.Y. at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 15.
