FRANCES ZAMBRANO Obituary

ZAMBRANO, FRANCESFrances Zambrano, of Bardonia, passed away at home with her family on Monday, April 4, 2005. She was 74. Frances was born in Brooklyn on January 22, 1931 to Francesco and Angeljna (Pendino) Guele. Mrs. Zambrano married Matthew (Sonny) Zambrano on June 28, 1952 in St. Agnes' Church, Brooklyn, NY. She worked in the Nanuet School District in the cafeteria for many years. Frances was an avid crotcheter and knitter who liked to go bowling and belonged on the Bardonia Ladies and St. Frances Bowling League. She was a great cook and loved to travel, clean and be with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Sonny Zambrano and three sons: Thomas and his wife Kathy of Nanuet, Frank and his wife Karen of Nanuet and Matthew of Stony Point, NY, nine grandchildren: Nicol, Thomas, Tara, Jeanine, Matthew, John, Frank, Michael and Gillian. A sister Ann Russo and three brothers: Ben and his wife Dorothy Settecase, Nick Guele, Joe and his wife Rose Guele also survive her. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Balestrieri. Friends may call Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the "Family Owned" Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10 am at St. Anthony's Church, 36 West Nyack Rd., Nanuet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances' name to the American Diabetes Association, 70 Red Oak Lane, White Plains, NY 10604 or the American Lung Association, 35 Orchard St., White Plains, NY 10605.
