Frederic Pisanelli Obituary

Dr. Frederic Pisanelli died on April 18, 2010 at Putnam Hospital in Carmel, NY. He was 83. Dr. Pisanelli was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 12, 1926 to Cosmo and Rose Pisanelli and attended NYC schools. He was drafted into the army in 1945 and was part of the Allied occupation forces in Japan. After WWII he graduated from Fordham University and the University of Rome Medical School. While studying in Italy, he met his first wife, Regina Byers. They were married in the Sistine Chapel on December 4, 1954. Dr. Pisanelli completed his medical training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Jacobi Hospital, completing a residency in orthopedic surgery. He entered the private practice of medicine in Mount Kisco, NY and was an attending orthopedic surgeon at Northern Westchester Hospital for almost 40 years. Following the death of his first wife and after retiring from medicine, Dr. Pisanelli became reacquainted with the woman who would become his partner for the rest of his days. Arlene Kolb had been a nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital many years earlier. They were married in December 1994 and made their home in Bedford for 10 years, before moving to Carmel. He is survived by his wife Arlene, daughter Elizabeth Pisanelli and her children, Maddie and Wilson, of Walnut Creek, CA.; son Andrew and daughter-in-law Diane Pisanelli and their children, Alec, Claire and Tess of Ridgefield, CT; and daughter Laura Ginty and her husband Dan of Jackson, WY; and step-children Joseph and Barbara Kolb and their four children, Alex, Gregory, Michael and Jenna of Richmond, IN.; Susan and Dennis Jarosz and their children, Victoria and Nicholas of Cortlandt Manor, NY; and Donna and Edward Shores and their children, Samantha and Ryan, also of Cortlandt Manor. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church,7 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Guiding Eyes For The Blind, Yorktown, NY or to a favorite charity.
