DR. GEORGE NICHOLAS PASTER

GEORGE PASTER Obituary

Dr. George Nicholas (Nic) Paster died on January 15, 2009. He had lived in Hasting-on-Hudson for 40 years. Dr. Paster served in World War II, a Major in the European Theatre. After the war he worked for peace, training rural persons in Europe and the Middle East under the auspices of the Quakers. He returned to the United States to lead the American Friends Service Committee for the Pennsylvania-New York region. He continue his education, earning a Ph.D., becoming a professor, Dean of Students, as well as a psychotherapist. He continued his lifelong fight for social justice and fairness. "Nic" leaves his wife of 43 years, Professor Vera S. Paster, two daughters, a son and daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, three nephews, two nieces, and a host of relatives, friends and students. There will be a celebration of the life of this remarkable man on March 7 at 2 PM at City College, 138th St. and Convent Ave., New York City.
