GEORGE WACK Obituary

George F. Wack, age 73, died on Thursday, December 7, 2000 at his residence in Garrison, NY. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY on October 25, 1927, he was the son of the late George F. and Virginia E. (McManus) Wack. Mr. Wack was a retired Sheet Metal worker, a member of Local #38 in Brewster, NY. He had for many years worked for Highland Sheet Metal in Ossining, NY, a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1945-46, he was also a former Chief and Life Member of the Continental Village Fire Co., a member of the Van Cortlandtville Historical Society and was an avid Woodworker, Gardener and Chef submitting numerous items to the Dutchess County Fair, a resident of the Garrison "Continental Village" area since 1955, he had moved here from Mt. Vernon. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie T. (Romeo) Wack, she died on June 11, 1995. He is survived by three sons George Wack of Naples, FL, Edward Wack of Virginia Beach, VA and Steven Wack of Cheseapeake, VA, two step-sons Edward Robinson of Cortlandt Manor, NY, George Wack of Putnam Valley, NY and one step-daughter Joanne Casablanca of Peekskill, NY, one sister Joan Becak of Aurora, CO. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held at the CLINTON FUNERAL HOME, 728 No. Division St., Peekskill on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at 10 am, the interment will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
