GLORIA AQUILINO Obituary

Gloria Aquilino, aged 83 and a New City resident for over 50 years, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Florida on February 1, 2008. She was born August 5, 1924 in the Bronx, NY; graduated from the Fordham School of Nursing; and worked as a Registered Nurse in New York City and Rockland County for over 30 years. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Nicholas G. Aquilino, in 1992. She was a member of the New City Seniors Club, and enjoyed the theater, travel, hosting large holiday dinners for her extended family and friends, and weekly games of Canasta and Mah Jongg. Gloria is survived by her sons, Nicholas W. Aquilino and his wife Kate of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Barry Aquilino and his wife Janet Barry of Forest Hills, NY. She is also survived by granddaughter Karen Aquilino of New York City, and brother Daniel Oringer of Little Neck, NY. She leaves many dear friends and family members as well. The funeral was private. Donations in Gloria's memory may be sent to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407, who provided gentle and loving care to the end.
