HECTOR L. OCASIO

Hector L. Ocasio, of Nyack, passed away on November 6, 2006 at the age of 61. He was born in Puerto Rico on September 16, 1945 to Andres and Alejandrina Garcia Ocasio. In 1993, he retired from the NYPD as a Dectective after 20 years of service. Mr. Ocasio served in the US Navy and was a member of the Detectives Endowment Association. He also coached Little League Baseball in Sparkill and basketball at St. Catharine's School in Blauvelt. He was a loving husband to Blanca and a loving father to his children, Michelle Ocasio, Hector Ocasio II, and AnnMarie Coppin. He is also survived by his brothers, Andy and Abraham; his sister, Gladys Martinez; and his granddaughter Bianca. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, 10 am, at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan with burial to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, 7 to 9 pm, and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Hector Ocasio's name to the United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956 or the Union State Bank at Nyack Hospital, 160 N.
