Helene DeSilva

Helene DeSilva, a lifelong resident of Ossining died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Helene was born in Ossining on March 13, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Enrico and Louisa (Castriana) Planamenta, she was 89. Helene attended Ossining schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Ossining. She is survived by sons, Dennis (Linda) of Cyprus, TX and Jack; her two brothers, Sydney and Richard Planamenta; her grandchildren, Timothy (Angela), Dennis (Elise), Deanne (Kevin) Battles and Christina (Steve). She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel on August 8, 1973; her siblings, Edward, Anthony, Antoinette Zaccardi and Florence DeFalco. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, from 7-9 pm with the services at the Funeral Home on Monday at 9:00 am. the Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
