John "Jack" A. Coyne

Croton on the Hudson - John "Jack" A. Coyne of Croton on Hudson, NY passed away on May 9, 2018 at the age of 81. John was born in Scranton, PA to Anthony and Mary (Carmody) Coyne on April 9, 1937. He married his beloved wife Margaret "Peggy" Boyle on June 27, 1964. John was an active member of the Holy Name of Mary Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his work as Chaplin for the KOC and his time spent taking the Veteran's at the Montrose, VA to Sunday Mass. John was a member of the Croton Volunteer Fire Department and acting Chaplin as well as secretary for the Croton Fire Patrol. He was Chaplin for the Northern Westchester Fire Police and treasure as well as Sargent of Arms and Chaplin for the Westchester County Fire Association.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Peggy Coyne; loving children, Diane Stinson (Bob), John Coyne (Debbie), and Chris Coyne; caring grandchildren, Mary Kate, Meghan, Elizabeth, Shannon, Maggie, Kelly, and Katie; adored great grandchildren, Nicholas, Savannah, Jacob, Joseph, Alexis, AJ, and Harley; dear brother, Leonard Armstrong (Ann) and his children, Brian and Tracey; and sister-in-law, Dhalma Coyne and her children, Larry and Pierre. John was predeceased by his brother, Tony Coyne and nephew, Lenny Coyne.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4-9pm at Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand St., Croton on Hudson, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 also at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton. Committal is Private. Arrangements under the direction of Edward F. Carter Funeral Home.
