JOHN KROHA Obituary

John Joseph Kroha, age 76, of Brewster and Narragansett, RI, died Sunday, November 7, 1999 at South County Hospital in Wakefield, RI. Mr. Kroha was born December 27, 1922 in Danbury, CT to the late Francis and Anna (Seaman) Kroha. He attended schools in Danbury. Mr. Kroha had served in the US Navy during WWII in the European Theater of Operations, and saw action in Anzio, Italy and Normandy, France. Mr. Kroha married Edith Becker on August 4, 1945 in NYC. Mr. Kroha was a foreman for NYSEG in Brewster for 29 years retiring in 1980. He was a resident of Brewster since 1950 and a summer resident of Narragansett since 1964. Mr. Kroha had lived in Danbury prior to Brewster. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. Besides his wife, Mr. Kroha is survived by five sons, John Kroha of Valatie, NY, Timothy Kroha of Virginia Beach, VA, Peter Kroha of Lake Placid, NY, Christopher Kroha of Black Diamond, WA and Matthew Kroha of Rolling Hills, CA. Five daughters, Patricia Jones of Beaverton, OR, Virginia Carlotti of Brewster, Rosemary Heydt of Jamestown, RI, Elizabeth Kroha of White Plains, and Susan Kroha of Brewster. Three sisters, Thelma Emory, Helen Palmer, and Marie Plecity. Four brothers, Francis, Vincent, David and Donald Kroha. Ten grandsons and nine granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12, 1999 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, Brewster on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. BEECHER FUNERAL HOME One Putnam Avenue, Brewster (914)279-3615
