JOHN M. VLISSIDES

John M. Vlissides, of Shrub Oak, Yorktown died on Thursday, November 24, 2005. He was 44. Mr. Vlissides worked as a Computer Scientist of IBM in Hawthorne. He was with the company 13 years. He was a noted computer scientist and author. He was educated in McLean, VA and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1983. He earned a Masters and PhD from Leland Stamford University. Locally he was an active member of Community Bible Church. He is survived by wife, DruAnn, three sons; Matthew (age 11), Mark (age 7), Robert (age 5), parents; Matthew and Sophia Vlissides, sisters; Irene V. Levy, brothers; Nicholas and Matthew, Jr. Family members who died earlier include 17 month old daughter, Helen Sophia (b. March 4, 1996/d. June 19, 1997). Calling hours are Saturday, November 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Virginia.
