JOSEPH LEARY Obituary

LEARY, JOSEPH T.Joseph T. Leary-a lifelong resident of Ossining died on Sunday, January 9, 2005. He was born in Ossining on February 2, 1917 and was the son of Jacob & Mary (Sanderson) Leary. He was 87. Joseph was a graduate of Ossining High School Class of 1935 and a Veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He retired from the Maryknoll Seminary after 42 years and retired as a Para mutual clerk at Yonkers Raceway after 44 years. Joseph was a lifelong communicant of St. Augustine's Church. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post # 506 in Ossining. Mr. Leary is survived by his children Bonnie Marconi, Dale Boemerman, Joseph, Rita Post, Gina Manwaring, Karen Mann, James and Marcia Tavano. His sister Sarah D'Agostino, his brother Paul, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Leary was predeceased by his wife Regina on August 26, 2000. His brothers Jacob, Raymond, Francis, Vincent and his sisters Mary Donohue, Alice Bechet and Catherine Leary, also predeceased him. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM with the Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
