LeRoy Combs Obituary
LeRoy Charles Combs, of Charlestown, RI, passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, surrounded by his family. A retired professional firefighter for the City of White Plains, NY, LeRoy and his wife retired to Rhode Island in 1992. He was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Charlestown, RI and as an avid numismatist. He was a member of the Pawcatuck Coin Club.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Combs; sons, Rev. Donald Combs of Brunswick, GA, David Combs of South Salem, NY, James Combs of Lyndenhurst, NY and Jeffrey Combs of New Milford, CT. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Sean, Melanie, Heather, Jesse, Evan, Jeff and Theresa.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 15 East Beach Road, Charlestown, RI on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11:00 AM. Service of interment will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Methodist Church, 250 Bryant Ave., White Plains, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 15 East Beach Road, Charlestown, RI 02813.

My Dad... My Hero... He was a WWII veteran, a corpsman attached to the USS Repose AH-16 serving in the Pacific theater. He was a White Plains Fire Fighter. He was a great father. All who knew him will say "He will be missed". Thank You for being my inspiration. I love you Dad.

Pop,
You were the definition of a role model. Being so close to you ever since icould remember, brings nothing but heart warming memories. From the trips we would take, to just sitting with you and talking about nothing, you will surely and sorely be missed. Thank you again for being there and for making me a better man for being with you.
