LOUIS MESZAROS Obituary

Louis (Al) Meszaros a longtime resident of Tarrytown and currently of Wilmington, NC, died January 28, 2006, after a long illness. He was 62. Al was born in Tarrytown November 6, 1943 to Louis Andrew and Anne Romanson Meszaros. He was a 1961 graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School and he attended Manhattan College. On September 25, 1971, he married Marilyn Bitting in the Second Reformed Church. Al was a retired Firefighter with Ladder 31 and Engine 82 in New York City. Prior to that he had been with the White Plains Fire Department. He was a life active member of Conqueror Hook and Ladder, and an associate member of Riverside Hose of Tarrytown Vol. Fire Department. He was also a Master Electrician. He was a member of the Tarrytown Dad's Club and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, St. Elmo's Council #318. Al is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 34 years and his children, Amy (Joe) Delia of Lagrange, NY; Louis F. (Dawn) of Wappingers and Timothy J. of Astoria. He was also a loving grandfather to Danielle, Joseph, A.J., Jacquelyn and Timothy W., and he is survived by his sisters, JoAnn Schmidt of Harve de Grace, MD; Joan Lobasso of FL, and Janice DeMicco of Mohegan Lake. Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 3 PM to 7 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at Transfiguration Church at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Thomas R. Elsasser Fund, 204 E. 23rd St., New York, NY 10010, Attn: Sheila Pettil for FDNY Widow & Children's Fund, would be appreciated.
