It's with great sadness that I have just learned of Sr. Maria's passing.
I only had the pleasure of meeting her once in person when she came to Ireland many years ago. She came to Kinsale, the town of her ancestors and to meet her cousins. As a young teenager at the time I have wonderful memories of her visit when my uncle Sean who was her cousin took on trips to see the local sites.
Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to visit the US and see her again but we kept the contact through the years exchanging Christmas cards and letters.
In recent years I was very happy that my son was able pay Sr. Maria a visit when he was in America. He was truly touched by the lovely person she was and the wonderful welcome she had for him.
She was a beautiful human being with a heart of gold who will always be lovingly remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
Rest in eternal peace Sr. Marie, until we meet again.
Jacqueline and family.

I have fond memories of Sr.Marie Daly because she was warm, friendly and kind, so she had the right personality for ANYONE, but especially for a principal in a school setting. She was also very encouraging in our academic endeavors. Sr.Marie was the BEST principal I EVER had, way better than whatever high school and college I attended. May God shed eternal light upon Sr. Marie and welcome her into his embrace.

Sr. Marie reflected the essence of Christianity. She reached out to all in her capacity as Principal of St John's School.
We are remembering her in our thoughts and prayers.
