MARY CHEROWITZ

Mary Cherowitz of Yonkers passed away on October 2, 2004. She was born on May 6, 1909 in Old Forge, PA to Joseph and Parasca Adamiak Lucas. Mary married her loving husband John Cherowitz on August 3, 1935 in the St. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Jersey City, NJ. He passed away in 1971. She was a member of the senior citizens group in Yonkers and St. Bartholomew Church. Mary loved to cook and she also loved bowling. She is predeceased by her husband John (1971), her son John (2002) and her three sisters Margaret Spaun, Helen Foyder and Anna Rakowski. Mary is survived by her sister Vera Spaun of Yonkers, her daughter-in-law Carol Cherowitz of Yonkers, her cherished grandchildren John III and his wife Cheryl of Georgia, Daniel and his wife Gina of Yonkers, her nephews Paul Semenetz of Yonkers, Joseph Rakowski of Seattle, WA, Richard Spaun of Verplanck, NY, her nieces Valorie Bresciani of Yonkers and Barbara Rakowski of White Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Bartholomew's Church with interment to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
