PATRICK FERGUSON Obituary

Patrick J. Ferguson of Haverstraw died Monday October 18, 2010 at home. He was 64. Patrick was born May 2, 1946 in Queens to the late John and Ella Ferguson. After serving his country in the United States Army, Patrick joined the NYPD, working the majority of his 20 years in the Bronx, including the Yankee Stadium detail, before retiring a Sergeant in Manhattan North Narcotics. He was a former drummer for the NYPD Emerald Society Pipe Band. Patrick also was a long time member and officer of the Rockland County Shields and a member of B.P.O.E. 877 Haverstraw Elks. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Barbara, daughters Erin and her husband Neal McGee of Cranford, N.J., Laura Ferguson of Venice, California and son John of the Bronx, NY. Patrick is also survived by his granddaughter Riley McGee, his sisters Margaret Healy, Anne and her husband Robert Kiernan, many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4, 7-9 pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home GARNERVILLE. Patrick's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick's memory are being requested to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane New City, New York or The Rockland County Shield's Scholarship Fund, PO Box 15 New City, NY.
