Peter Haren Obituary
Peter A. Haren, 78, from Pearl River, NY retired to Cape Coral, FL, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. Peter was the son of Peter and Catherine (McElwain) Haren, he was predeceased by his parents and his twin sisters Maureen and Kathleen. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Nora (Ryan) Haren and his four children Michael and his fiancé Ellen Serret, Sean, Kathleen Curry and her husband Raymond, Nora Reilly and her husband Daniel, and five grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, Jack, Emily and Ryan; and his niece Joanne Binder.
Peter was a highly decorated FDNY fire fighter for 22 years. He also served two years with the US Navy and 30 years with Local 46th Metallic Lathers. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him and he will always be our hero and Nora's honey bunny.
A visitation will be held at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the FDNY Burn Unit at http://www.nyffburncenter.com/news/index/layoutfile/donation or by mail to the Fire fighter's Burn Center Foundation, 21 Asch Loop, Bronx, New York 10475.

Dear Nora & Family,
Sincere sympathy to you all as you mourn the death of Pete RIP. On behalf of my dad Charlie, mam Anna, my brothers Paul, Brendan & Kevin and the Deery Family we offer you our prayers and thoughts at this time of great loss.
Pete has always had a special place in the heart of our family and we have many great memories of his time with us here in Monaghan, especially September 2006 when we partied into the night at Carnaquill, his mother's birth place. Daddy often speaks of 1953 and Pete arriving to Ireland as a wild young man!!! I know my father and Kathleen, his sister, are so upset at the passing of their cousin and on their behalf I extend, once again, my sincere sympathy. Please be assured of our prayers and thoughts as you struggle at this time. I am offering Mass during the coming week for the repose of his soul.
