Peter Tavino Obituary
Peter John Tavino, a long time resident of Brewster, passed away on January 13, 2012. He was 85.
Peter was born on July 17, 1926 in Tuckahoe, NY to the late James and Josephine (Izzo) Tavino. He served in the Army during World War II. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a
Past Grand Knight. Peter owned his own construction company, and built and developed several properties throughout Brewster and the surrounding area.
Peter is survived by Nellie, his wife of 60 years; sons Peter (Mary),James (Nancy), Louis (Mary), and Thomas (Ann); daughter Joanne; sister Ann Disque; brother Justin Tavino; thirteen grandchildren; three great
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Rose Manes.
Peter was a gentle and kind man who will be remembered fondly by many.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 10:00am at St Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster. Interment following at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Monday and Tuesday from 4-8 pm.

Although we only got to see Peter a few times a year when he came to Rochester, it was always a treat to share in his stories and hear his hearty laugh. You didn't have to see Peter often to know he loved life and took great pride in his family. Jim, Nancy, Allison and Jimmy, we wish we could be with you in Brewster.
