Philip Kelly Obituary

Philip A. Kelly, Sr. entered eternal life on September 10, 2007. He was born on August 20, 1921 to Mary (McLoughlin) and James Kelly. Phil was educated in Mt. Vernon and proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed in New Guinea and Southern Philippines. Upon his return, he worked for Jacob E. Decker & Sons and Edy Provisions. On April 11, 1950, he married Kathleen McCarthy and they lived in New Rochelle celebrating 50 years of marriage. Their surviving children are Geraldine (Charlie) Lizzo and Philip (Judy) Kelly. "Phil Dear" lost his beloved Kay in December of 2000. As a family they enjoyed many summers at the Echo Bay Yacht Club. Phil was a member of the American Legion Post 8, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was loving "Pop" to Chad, Tim, Kevin, Brian and Katie and the great grandfather of Declan. Phil is survived by his sister, Kathleen Boettigheimer and was loved as "Uncle Phil" by many nieces and nephews. His sister, Betty Ivers predeceased him. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. Mass Thursday, 9:30 am, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
