Richard Bird Obituary
Spring Valley - Richard "Richie" Ralph Bird, age 62, passed away at his home in Spring Valley, NY after battling cancer. He was born on September 14, 1956 in Spring Valley to Richard and Hattie Bird. Richie worked for the Building and Grounds Department of the East Ramapo Central School District for over 30 years. Richie spent his life serving others, including as a Life Member of the Columbian Fire Engine Company and the primary caregiver to his late mother Hattie. Richie lived life out loud - he loved a good joke, riding his Harley, bowling with friends, and playing his trumpet.
He is survived by his sister, Carol (Bruce) Frimerman; nieces, Sandra (David) Bergquist, and Debra (Robert) Frimerman; and great-niece, Eva. Richie will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and the community. The family welcomes the many people whose lives Richie touched to a visitation on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 3:30 pm - 6 pm at the Sniffen-Sagala Funeral Home, 235 NY-59, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Firematic service to follow from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Miss Richard (Richie).he was never afraid of telling you how he felt. Bowled with and against him. From the Hub,to Hi Tor. Had alot of laughs.

So sorry for Richies family. He was a great guy. I go back to bowling with him in the hub when they still held bowling dinners. May he rest in peace.

I knew Richie many years ago, seems like a lifetime. Will miss talking to him on FB. He had a good heart and was always good to me even though didn't know him very long. You will be missed Rich. My thoughts and condolences to his family. Judy Keenan
