Rodney Head Obituary
Rodney Head of Mahopac, NY, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. He was 79. Born in Mahopac on April 17, 1933, he was the son of John and Cecile Head. A lifelong resident of Mahopac, he was a proud member of Westchester Heavy Construction Laborers Local 60 and American Legion Post 1080.
He is survived by children Debra Deschamps of Connecticut, Margo Hamilton of South Dakota, David Head of Mahopac and Linda Burris of Carmel; brother Eugene Head of Mahopac; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings Grady Mason, Richard Head and Wilma Hall; first wife Barbara Armstrong in 1968; and second wife Emily Wright in 2012.
Visiting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 Rte. 6, Mahopac, NY 10541, www.josephjsmithfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery, Mahopac Falls, NY.
