Rosemary Colavito Obituary

Rosemary Peraglia Colavito

Newburgh - Rosemary Peraglia Colavito of Newburgh, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 23rd, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren, who filled her ears and heart with warm memories, laughter, and radiating love. She was born in the Bronx, pursued fashion and the arts, loved her work in the school district, shaped her family, and spoiled her grandchildren.

Rosemary was an artist. A strong, elegant woman, a witty dinner-party seatmate, an intuitive soul. Someone who taught her girls that they could do anything, and taught her boys the same. Someone who passed on her father's core belief that when banded together, family can withstand anything. Rosemary, Mommy, Mama Ro, Roro. Anyone who knows her can picture her sheepish grin, hiding her smirked lips behind the palm of her hand, as she murmured a silly quip, an inside joke for you and her to share. Rosemary was the embodiment of home.

Survived by her loving husband of 64 years, her Sammy; their children, Marie'Anne, Linda'Lee, Billy, and Laura; their children-in-law, Rob, David, Gina, and Jay; their grandchildren, Lena and her wife Julie, Dante and his wife Esta, Lara, Ryan and his wife Maggie, Victoria, Trey, Zarah, Joseph, Sam, and Will; their great-grandchild, Cami; her brother, Pat Peraglia; and her sisters, Linda'Lee Bietighofer and Carol Leverone.

In heaven, she is joining her parents, Dominick and Lena Peraglia; her brother, Joseph and sister-in-law Marie Peraglia; and brother-in-laws Bob Bietighofer and Steve Leverone.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday March 1st at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc. 239 Quassaick Avenue (Rte94) New Windsor, NY; Due to COVID there is occupancy limitation which may cause a wait time, please be respectful of your time visiting. Aunt Rosemary,
I have fond memories of you as child, teenager, adult, that we shared, from Noble Avenue in the Bronx to your 80th Birthday celebration upstate.
Among my favorites memories, was your wedding. You looked like a Princess in a fairy tail.
Sunday dinners with you, uncle Sammy, your children at
Naun Naun’s and how our families would come downstairs to spend time during your visit.
How your beautiful gold charm bracelet was your signature accessory to me.
I’ll remember your voice, warmth, laughter, different hairstyles, and sweet smile.
You will always be Lved,
Aunt Rosemary

She was one awesome lady who was always there for her family. She always made people feel comfortable being around her even while working in her daughters store in Montgomery NY. She made you feel welcome in her home along with her husband Sam. You are an ANGEL .
