In Loving Memory of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Ruth McCarthy. October 1, 1919 - October 23, 2013
Our mother's compassion and love will remain in our hearts forever. She was always caring, encouraging and selfless. She often reminded us to live life fully - one day at a time. Although she will be greatly missed, she leaves us with beautiful memories that will never be forgotten.
Ruth is survived by her son, Richard Beattie and his family, and her daughter, Evelyn Lewis and her family. Ruth had six grandchildren, Lisa, Nina, Michael, Adele, Karen and Rick and eleven great grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life and her source of pride and joy.
Ruth was a long-time member of St. John's Church of Larchmont, NY and was for many years an active member of their Altar Guild. She was an officer and director of the Halfway Houses of Westchester, Inc. for over 20 years.
Ruth was endlessly generous in her giving a "helping hand" to all those who might need her. Her friends were many, and they were all very special to her.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name can be made to The Halfway Houses of Westchester, Inc., 14 Longview Ave., White Plains, NY 10605.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at St. John's Church on 4 Fountain Square in Larchmont, NY on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
