SALVATORE NESPOLA Obituary

81, a long time resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, died at his home on October 1, 2001. He was born September 21, 1920 in New York City, to Carmella and Cateno Nespola. He was one of nine children. He married to Rose Fiorio on November 14, 1942. In 1961, they moved ot Hastings-on-Hudson where he owned Villard Bakery until 1964. In 1972 he became a custodian at Hastings High School. He worked there until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose and his four children, Camille Lent, Roseanne O'Reilly, Lorraine Harla, and Joseph Nespola. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Vaccarelli, Susie Siragusa, Anne Sanders, Lena Gisonni and his brother Tony Nespola. He was loving grandfather to Sean O'Reilly, Frederick Lent, Colleen O'Reilly, Jean Holloway, Daniel Lent, Jaime Harla and Christina Morris, and great grandfather of Ryan Lent and MacKenzie Holloway. He was predeceased by his daughter Donna, sister Concetta Nespola, Sadie Ludovico, and brother Frank Nespola. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring Street, on Wed. and Thurs. from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Church on Friday at 10am. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Westchester.
