SONDRA WELLS

Sondra Diane Wells, 69, of Spring Valley, NY on January 2, 2010 passed in Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY after a 16 month battle with fistula issues from intestinal mesh complications. Born in Middletown, NY, Sondra previously celebrated her 50th high school reunion. Sondra was a homemaker who raised two children in Spring Valley, NY and was an active parent in the PTA and was a volunteer in the community throughout her life. Sondra was an ovarian and breast cancer survivor and volunteered for the Rockland chapter of the American Cancer Society. She encouraged many women both on the phone and in person to never give up and be as positive as you can be! She retired from her position as an administrative specialist for IBM in Palisades, NY in 2007 and began working for her son, Dr. Mark Wells, a podiatrist in Suffern, NY by setting up appointments for patients and often provided encouragement to many patients from the community from the United Hospice of Rockland County. Sondra loved traveling, cooking, going to restaurants and enjoying every minute with her family and friends. Sondra was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren: Rachel, Andrew, Sarah and Jonathan. Sondra's positive attitude and constant smile will be missed by her immediate family as well as her extended family members and many friends. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society of Rockland County or United Hospice of Rockland County in the name of Sondra Wells.
