STANLEY BERNACKI Obituary

BERNACKI, STANLEY Stanley Bernacki, 82, of Yonkers, NY, died October 5, 2005 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Born October 23, 1922 in Yonkers, NY to Boleswa and Julianna Worholy Bernacki. Mr. Bernacki served in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged as a sergeant after performing duty as a communications chief, oiler and rigger, squad leader and military policeman. Upon his return to civilian life, Mr. Bernacki worked as a Watch Engineer for Nynex in Yonkers. He was actively involved during the early 1970's with the Park Hill Boys Club, where he coached, refereed and umpired in the club's sports programs. He was the dear husband of Cornelia Ann Shemeta with whom he recently celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary. He was the beloved father of Cornelia Lichodolik, Frances Piotrowski, Catherine Twardosz, Barbara, Dorothy, William and Michael Bernacki and the loving grandfather of Jessica, Gregory and Daniel Lichodolik; Michael and Nicholas Bernacki; and David Twardosz. Mr. Bernacki was predeceased by a brother and five sisters. Memorial donations honoring Stanley's life may be made to the Church of St. Casmir, 239 Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10701. Funeral Mass Saturday, 10 am, at the Church of St. Casmir, with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
