STUART GOLDBERG Obituary

Stu Goldberg passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on August 5, 2007 with his wife and best friend at his side. He was born on April 17, 1949 in the Bronx and moved to Monsey when he was 18 years old. Stu attended Brooklyn Law School and served as an Assistant District Attorney in Rockland County after graduation. He maintained a private practice in Spring Valley for several years before moving to his home office in Wesley Hills. He was also a Deputy Village Attorney for the Village of Spring Valley's urban renewal project. Stu is survived by his life companion and virtual wife, Corinne Apostle, also of Wesley Hills; his mother Beatrice (nee Nathanson) and his brother Douglas (m. Jeannie) of Monroe; his five beloved cats and all of the wildlife he cherished at his home. Stu was a pilot for many years, flying out of the old Ramapo Airport until its closure. He always believed in pushing the proverbial edges of the envelope, and did so from the time of his accident until his death. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and with Corinne, enjoyed many SCUBA diving trips around the world. His enthusiasm for shark diving, combined with his profession, eaned him the moniker Stu Shark, which he proudly bore. His brilliance and constant quest for knowledge kept his mind fresh with new ideas. He was generous, and freely imparted his legal insights to friends, family and often complete strangers. Stu will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, most especially Corinne. A Service will be held at Wanamaker Funeral Home, Suffern, NY on Wednesday, August 8th at 11 am, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack.
