Great picture of Smitty! He sure stayed young looking! He was one of the upper classmen(I graduated in '59) whom I really admired-a nice person and great athlete. He was one of the folks in Pearl River that made the town a great place in which to live. Sincere condolences......again. Ted McElroy, Jr

Tom:
I'll never forget the snowy Christmas Eve that you wanted to go target shooting at my hunt club in New York, and we drove through the driving snow to fire off a couple of rounds on the range, while your sister waited at home for us. We must have been crazy!

R.I.P. Uncle Tom. You were a good guy. My favorite uncle. You were the first real cool guy I ever knew. You taught me how to play blackjack. You also taught me that in a fight, always take the biggest guy out first, right after you tell the other guys you're taking them out after you take out the big guy.

You were a great father figure early on, and I'll never forget the great early on family years we had together when we all lived close to each other in New York. Especially the combo gatherings celebrating your birthday, Father's Day, and my birthday.

Your visit to Germany with Grandma when we were living there was awesome. The blackjack trip with German pfennings. I think we tried poker, but it didn't work out.

Also had a ton of fun the week of the family reunion when we came to see you. No one believed us, but we saw a freakin' manatee in the canal.

You were epic at my wedding. Hitting on all the MUCH younger girls. You were disappointed you didn't get the garter. You were doing fine without it!

Have missed you for years, and always will.

Uncle Tommy-
I'm thankful I had the opportunity to spend some time with you and that I got to know how witty and funny you were.
I'm glad that you're at peace now.
Love you.

Smitty was one of the few upperclassmen I remember. Always nice, smiling, never a bully and a terrific athlete. R.I.P.. Ted McElroy Class of '59

Tom, I will miss you so very much. You were always my hero and a very large part of my life. You were such a wonderful big brother and my protector.

You're at peace and resting now and I feel some peace knowing that.

I love you.

Barbara
