Vincent E. Balint

Fairfield, CA - Vincent E. Balint died on May 20th at his home in Fairfield, CA. He was the son of the late John and Margaret (Lucas) Balint. He was a graduate of Most Holy Trinity School in Yonkers and Archbishop Stepinac H. S. in White Plains. In the early 1950's he enlisted in the USAF. While on duty in England he met and married his beloved wife of 60 years, Jean Blackshaw. She survives as do their sons, Christopher and Robert and their families. He finished his USAF career at Travis AFB in CA, and after his honorable discharge, was a sales rep for Nabisco for thirty-five years before fully retiring.

He spent his early years in Yonkers with his parents, five sisters and three brothers. The "Brothers Four" gathered annually over the course of 30 years for a week of golf. Vince was the best of the four. He was Jean's faithful assistant when she became a breeder of Whippets. The dogs usually accompanied them as they traveled throughout the USA and Canada in their "motorized home".

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Kathleen Kane, and two brothers, John and Father Jim. In addition to his wife and sons he is survived by four sisters, Margaret Murray, Bernice Flynn, Mary Lou Blute and Judith Fasano (all of Cape Cod) and a brother Andrew of White Plains.
