Vincent Fanelli, age 90, of West Harrison passed into the loving arms of God on December 7, 2010. Born on October 14, 1920 in Torre di Ruggiero, Cantanzaro, Italy, he was the eldest of six sons born to Saverio and Giovanna Lombardo Fanelli. He immigrated to the United States in 1936 settling with his family in White Plains. He became a skilled carpenter working early on in the Buffalo area and then returning to Westchester. On May 12, 1946 he married Maria Teresa Amedeo in Mount Carmel Church in White Plains. They became residents of West Harrison in 1953. For over twenty-five years, he worked for Rahmani Construction Corporation. His employment there focused on office building construction in the center of White Plains but also took him as far away as Venezuela and Mexico where he worked on many housing development endeavors in impoverished areas. He later joined Schulman Realty Corporation where he was employed for over twenty years working on several office-building projects on Westchester's Platinum Mile in Harrison and White Plains. He retired in 1991 and then embarked on a most rewarding endeavor caring for his newborn granddaughter, Kristen. It was a role he loved and performed with dedication and pride for many years. A good man, Vincent lived his life with honor. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and uncle who never forgot the meaning of respect. His love and dedication was apparent in all things related to his family. He was a loyal and trustworthy friend whose generosity was boundless. He was the first person to reach into his pocket or to extend a helping hand to anyone in need of assistance. His parents, wife, Mary, beloved son, Harrison Police Officer Sam, and brother, Frank, predeceased him. He leaves behind to mourn him his loving daughter Marianne Fanelli and son-in-law Joe Maiberger, cherished granddaughters Kristen Maiberger, Victoria Cottini and Nicole Sandomenico and grandson Sam Fanelli and five greatgrandchildren.
