VINCENT GRUPPUSO

GRUPPUSO, VINCENTVincent Gruppuso, a longtime Yonkers resident, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Somers Manor Nursing Home in Somers, NY. He was 92 years old. Born November 4, 1912 in New York City to the late Sebastian and the late Rosaria Amadeo Gruppuso, he was a resident of Yonkers for over 50 years. He married his dear wife Lillian on September 7, 1938. He was employed as a plumber and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union until his retirement in 1978. Vincent joined the Coyne Park Senior Center after retirement and was an active member for 26 years. He enjoyed working in the kitchen where he was known for making coffee. The members honored his kitchen work with a sign reading "Jim's Kitchen." He was predeceased by his beloved spouse in June of 2004. He was the loving father of Rose Marie Chianese, Vincent Gruppuso and Nora Ryan. He is survived by his 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A brother, Philip and a sister, Lillian Pilone also survive him. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers: Salvatore and Dominic. Funeral Mass Saturday 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Yonkers, NY. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. The family will be present Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. F.
