Vincent Montazella Obituary
Vincent H. Montazella, formerly of New City, passed in peace on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his wife Regina L. Fitz. He was the former husband and cherished friend of Barbara Montazella.
Vincent was a loving father to Ellen (John) O'Brien, Vincent Montazella, Aleesa (Ron) Jahn, Douglas (Gretchen) Montazella, Karen Montazella, and Glen (Lori) Montazella. He was the proud grandfather of Lauren, Jennifer, Elena, Vincent, Melissa, Robert, Kaylee, Douglas, Christopher, Jeremy, Joseph, and Avra, and great-grandfather of Ryan, Brendan, Hudson, and Brayden. He is also survived by nephews Ron, Steve, and Gary Wood.
Vincent was a proud retiree of the New York City Police Department. He was a proud Patriot and U.S. Navy Veteran.
Viewing will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Sunday, October 8, 2016 from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine's Church in New City on Monday at 10am followed by interment at Fredrick Loescher Veteran's Cemetery in Spring Valley.

I love you, Grandpa. You were the best. Every time I saw you, you made me smile. I saw a few pictures of you when you were younger, and you look almost the same as my oldest brother, Chris.. It's actually kind of strange. Anyway, I love you so much. In those months before you died, I feel guilty about not spending as much time with you as I should have. It was just so hard seeing you like that, and I'm sorry. I didn't even know if you were going to get better, so I assumed you would.
I am so sorry.
I love you.
I wanted you to know that we are all doing pretty well, and Chris got drafted into the USPLL. Jeremy had an ACL surgery (again), and Joseph is a star player on his football team. Dad is doing good, and I bet he misses you as well. I know Mom does. I also wanted to tell you I'm doing good and have progressed in my riding.
We all miss you. Chipper is also up there in Heaven with you as well, along with Butterscotch, Missy, Fluffernutter, Cheddar and Kitty.
