Aubrey Lawrence Haney

1946-2021

Aubrey Lawrence (Larry) Haney, 74, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away August 3rd, 2021 in Gallup, New Mexico. He was traveling back home with his wife after visiting one of his daughter's in California. Larry was born December 6, 1946 in Stockton, California. He was the oldest of 6 siblings. Larry was married just shy of 51 years to the love of his life, JoAnne Haney, who survives him.

He graduated from Lompoc High School in 1965. After graduation, he enlisted and served our country in the U.S. Army until 1969. After his discharge, he was employed by the City of Lompoc and then the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he retired in 1997.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Jo and Luke Newman from Mt Airy, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Kari and Joshua Slone from Lompoc, CA; grandchildren, Luke and Aaron Quezada, Aubrey, Natalie, and Elizabeth Neary, Tate and Elena Newman; brothers, Ronnie Haney and Edward Millis; and sisters, Jan Waller and Karen Dossey and too many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins to name.

Larry was preceded in death by mother, Bette and his fathers, Aubrey P. Haney and James Millis, and his sister, Judy Haese.

There will be a service planned later to honor Larry Haney

Larry was a long, long time friend of Albert's beginning in 1969 when Larry and Albert both worked for the City of Lompoc. That friendship continued over many years. We send our heartfelt condolences to JoAnne and the girls. Larry was one of a kind....the good kind.
