James Huseman Obituary
1942 - 2022
We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, James C. Huseman, known to many as Jimmy, Jim, Huseman, or Husey. He passed away peacefully after 79 trips around the sun surrounded by, and phone connected, with those he loved most in the world. Jimmy retired from life April 14, 2022.
Jimmy was born in Santa Barbara, California on September 23, 1942, to his loving parents, Annie Irene Lewis Huseman and Louis Curtis Huseman. Jimmy was the youngest of three boys.
In school, Jimmy was a bright student as well as a class clown that kept his classmates and teachers in stitches. In addition, he was an outstanding athlete in both football and basketball. He continued his passion for basketball by playing in the Lompoc City League.
Jim was a graduate of Lompoc High, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Cal Western School of Law. Jim used his degree in law as a District attorney in San Diego, California and to support his community of Lompoc, California.
Jimmy enjoyed bringing a smile, a laugh, and a good story to those around him. He enjoyed travel and soaked up the culture when he did. Jim was an avid reader, breakfast eater, and enjoyed his afternoon naps.
Jim was a member of The Elks Lodge, The Valley Club, River Bottom, and a founding member of The Valley Run.
James C. Huseman was preceded in death by his father, Louis C. Huseman in 1955, mother, Irene L. Huseman, in 1992, brother Louis Gordon Huseman in 1983, and his brother Eugene Lewis Huseman in 2017.
He is survived by his son, Michael Brett Huseman; daughter-in-law, Emma Dean Huseman; Granddaughters Olivia D. Huseman and Tess E. Huseman. His daughter Adrienne Brooke Huseman Coen, son-in-law, Robert Wayne Coen; and his love, Delores Knopke Huseman.
To honor Jimmy's retirement from life, please join us at the River Bottom, July 9th, 2022 12pm-3pm. Jim's family and friends would love to hear a special memory you shared with him. Dust off your Tommy Bahamas and colorful attire to celebrate his fun-loving, lively character. Let's raise a glass and toast Jimmy, Jim, Huseman, Husey, Dad, and Grandpa.

Mr. Houseman was the attorney my father used. He was one of the funniest most wonderful people I have ever met. I will always think of the twinkle in his eye. God bless your family.

Jimmy and I grew up together. He was in my Cub Scout den. We played basketball together and ran track at Lompoc High. We also worked together at Johns Manville's Brick Plant. In all the many years I knew Jimmy, he was never down. His love of life was contagious. He will be missed.

Jimmy was a fun-loving, smart man. Always smiled and made those around him happy. I remember the wonderful "Oyster Parties" he held at his law office on Flower Festival Parade Day. Everyone loved him and I don't think he had an enemy in the world. RIP Jimmy.

I was Jimmy's roommate at Cal Poly in Rm 105 in Muir Hall, then at 841 California St, SLO with Jim Copeland and Herb Fischer. A lot of antics and talks with the academic deans!! Great guy, super mind, good friend. We went to separate law schools but ended up in the same county. His memory is forever etched in my mind. His brother, Gene ,was a good family friend too. My best to the family.
