PATSY ANN BOYD

It's been said that motherhood has a very humanizing effect. Everything gets reduced to the essentials. Perhaps no one understood this more than Patsy Ann Boyd and, if she wanted us to take anything from all of this, it is to remember the essentials . As a mother, educator and enjoyer of vitality, she gave life, love and lessons-the essentials-without thought or concern, dispensing them as easily as peppermints from a candy jar, sometimes with the lesson being equally as sweet.
Born to John Grayson and Curruth Drummund Kincaid, Patsy Ann Kincaid Boyd began her love of life on February 4, 1932 and, in seeing her fulfill her purpose exactly as He had seen fit, the Lord took her home January 20, 2008.
In imparting this knowledge of things gained and lost from life, there is no group more acclimated to the message than her immediate family. She is survived by her children, Julian Boyd and Adrienne Boyd of Lompoc and Justin (Kathy) Boyd of Chesterfield, VA; sister Marian McKinney of Fayetteville, NC; and brother Buddy Kincaid of Washington DC; grandchildren Hilary Hayes of Chico, CA, Clinton "C.J." Boyd of Chicago, IL, Sophia Boyd of Chico, Joshua and Micah Boyd of Lompoc, Janelle (Kerry) Marshall of Chicago, IL, Jessica Boyd of Santa Clara, CA, and Justin, Jr. and Jordan Boyd of Chesterfield; and great-granddaughter Jada Marshall of Chicago as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is her husband James (Jim) Boyd in 1990, by her parents John Grayson and Curruth Kincaid, and siblings John Grayson Kincaid Jr., Bettye K. Forney and Bobby Joe Kincaid.
Services will be held beginning with a viewing on today from 4-8 p.m. at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, 123 N A Street, Lompoc with a service to be held Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at True Vine Baptist Church, 533 S. Avalon, Lompoc.
