Patsy Campbell Obituary

PATSY L. CAMPBELL
1930 - 2008

Out of respect for her wishes no services will be planned for Patsy L. Campbell, 78, a resident of Lompoc who died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Lompoc Hospital.
Pat was born in Anderson, Indiana August 12, 1930, to Ernest L. and Constance L. Key. She moved with her parents and three siblings to Lompoc in November of 1946, when her father bought the Lompoc Flying service operating out of the Lompoc Airport.
She graduated from Lompoc High School with the class of 1948 and married Kenneth Campbell in 1949. She was a homemaker until the death of her husband in 1965. She then worked part time as a clerk with Lompoc Unified School District for five years. She later worked as a medical records supervisor for Santa Barbara County Health Department until her retirement in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tricia in 1978. She is survived by her three sons, Robert, David and Randy, all of Lompoc, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her sisters Jacqueline (George) Saye of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Linda (Ed) Buller of Saint Louis Missouri, and her brother Robert (Lorene) Key of Lompoc.
Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary followed by interment in the Lompoc Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 604 East Ocean Avenue, Lompoc, CA 93436.
Known for her superior homemaking skills her family wanted to conclude with a quote found in a local newspaper: "Lord, I hope you've been keeping a clean house up there. If not, my mom is going to be in your face."

Pat was the BEST Mother in law in the world. She was the most honest and fair person I have ever met. She raised the most amazing and talented children. Pat loved and accepted my kids into her family as if they were her own. Today it has been one month, I guess in time the sadness will go away. My Grandma Pat was and still is the single most amazing woman I have ever known. She was intelligent, loving, honest, trust-worthy and above all, strong. I am so lucky to have been able to be so close to her. I think of her everyday and I know that will continue as I try to instill high moral values into my daughter as she did with her children. I am so proud to be her grand-daughter.

What a wonderful woman. She was a such a special person, homemaker, caregiver, mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, cousin and friend. And how she made us laugh - many times at ourselves. To know her was to love her. Though we miss her with all our hearts, we are so glad she is now without pain and suffering.
With love to all our cousins,

Chris and Nelda

Dear Family, So sorry I never got to know this great Lady very well. But I'm sure she was a great influence to all. I hope to see all of you someday soon at our reunion. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you! Your Cousin Janice (Ruth's Daughter)

My sister Pat was a great role model for me, as were Jackie and Bob. All three were really "cool" in my young eyes, but if I thought they were leaving me out, I could always get my "evens" by tattling to our folks about their adventures. We'll miss you, Pat, but have such wonderful memories.

Everytime we think of Pat, we think of the good food that came from her kitchen and made from her heart, especially the chocolate-covered toffee. Butch was the highest bidder on this yummy auction item. We keep looking for that taste. Take care and our thoughts are with you at this time.

To a dear & wonderful woman, Aunt Pat will be sorely missed, but I will look forward now to arriving to a cleaner heaven! May our Lord bless all those who are hurting most by Pat's departure, & may they truly heal quickly with all the fun memories she left in their hearts.

You will always remain in my heart and thanks for letting me sneak into your kitchen and get into the bread box before the ornery boys caught me! What a special person you are and you will be missed by all. I sure hope Heaven is clean or you will be soooo busy :-)

Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Can I just say that the quote that you picked out for your mom was great, it made us laugh. I am sure your mom would have loved it too.
