Sonia L. Twells, 87, of Lompoc, California, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 7, 1938, in Quebec, Canada, to Roland and Lili Tremblay, Sonia brought warmth, creativity, and grace to all who knew her. She built a beautiful life filled with family, friendship, and service to her community. Sonia was a dedicated real estate agent in the Lompoc community for over 20 years. Her talents extended far beyond her professional life. An excellent cook, Sonia delighted family and friends with meals prepared with love. Her artistic spirit was evident in everything she touched, bringing beauty into the everyday. A woman of faith, she was a member of her church community, where she found strength, fellowship, and purpose. Sonia is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Stuart Twells; her son, Derek Twells; her daughter, Julie Twells Insley; and her five cherished grandchildren: Brianne, Evan, Danielle, Luke, and Dylan.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Sonia Twells on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 2800 Harris Grade Road, Lompoc, CA 93436.

We miss you dearly, mom. You gave so much of yourself over the years in so many different ways that touched so many people. As a mom, you always did what you needed to do when I was sick and not feeling well. And beyond that you always gave of yourself, your heart and your soul and all the amazing things you did for so many people. You are an amazing chef, seamstress, artist, real estate, executive, wife, friend, companion, and a great mom. We could’ve not asked for anything more. The Lord has blessed you with peace and serenity. And we all feel blessed that we were with you when you left us. You will be missed. Love you dearly until the end of time. Your son, Derek.Xoxo
