Hunter Bohnenblust Obituary

Hunter James Bohnenblust, age 9, of Leesburg VA, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born on March 11, 2016, Hunter brought light, laughter, and joy into every life he touched.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Jacqueline Kramer and Eric Bohnenblust; his sister Charlotte; and his puppy, Ray. He is also survived by his grandparents, Kurt and Nancy Kramer of Gettysburg, PA, and Walt and Bonnie Bohnenblust, of Reading, PA. Hunter was preceded in death by his beloved beagle, Chase, who surely welcomed him with a wagging tail and a happy howl.

Hunter's passions were as wide as his smile. He loved fishing with his dad, running with his mom, and creating video shorts with his best buddies. Hunter played soccer for Loudoun Soccer and basketball with Central Loudoun Basketball League. He was a proud member of Cub Scout Pack 311. A true sports fan, Hunter cheered with boundless energy for Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles. Hunter was just as content curled up with his favorite Dan Gutman book or listening to the Spectrum radio station as he was sprinting down the soccer field or heading out on an adventure. Speaking of adventures, Hunter was lucky enough to enjoy epic trips to Montana, Mesa Verde, Disney, Big Ten Championship and college football playoff games, and many others.

Hunter was happiest spending time at his family's summer cottage at Charleston Lake, Ontario. He was a lover of burgers and bacon sandwiches. Known for his kindness, positivity, and upbeat attitude, Hunter had a gift for lifting others up. In his last few months, Hunter continued to live with incredible spirit. He traveled with his family, cheered on his soccer team, and filled each day with laughter, courage, and love.

Hunter will be remembered as a bright light whose laughter and energy will continue to inspire all who knew him. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, Hunter responded "to be a kind person." Though his time on earth was far too short, his memory will last forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

A service in celebration of Hunter's life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 4 p.m. at Segra Field in Leesburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Hunter's memory to Hunter's Heroes, a scholarship fund designed to honor players who exemplify Hunter's caring spirit and provide financial support for soccer kits and gear to underprivileged children. https://www.loudounsoccer.com/give-now (Choose Hunter's Heroes)

I didn´t know Hunter or anyone in his family or group of friends. I saw this obituary of his sweet and too short life, and my heart broke. I´m thinking of you all today, and praying for you also. I would´ve liked to have known him.
