Janice Kauffman

Janice (Williams) Kauffman, age 71, of Lovettsville, VA died peacefully in the compassionate care of Blue Ridge Hospice on December 7, 2025. She was born December 10, 1953 to Saylor and Nancy Ellen (Gaye) Williams in Onley, MD and spent her intermediate and high school years in Taylorstown, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband Garnet Kauffman, her parents and 8 (of 10) siblings, her daughter Jennifer Lauren (Spinks) Biniek (h. Brian), and her granddaughter Alison Colleen (Rose) Bieler. She is survived by her brother Fred Williams (w. Maryland), daughter Lisa Michelle (Spinks) Erickson (h. Christopher), her granddaughter Margaret Elisabeth Rose (Parker), her step-grandchildren Adriana Dale (Erickson) Armiger (h. Kenny) and Ethan Joseph Erickson (w. Tabia), three great granddaughters, Rilynn Arabella, Evelyn Louise, and Colleen Elisabeth, one step-great granddaughter Brooklyn Rose, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved kitty Maxwell.

Janice (Jan, Polly, Jannie Faye, Granmommy, Gran-Jan) was loved by many. She had the best sense of humor and loved to laugh with her family and friends. She was an avid reader who loved a good "who dunnit" or Stephen King thriller, cross-stitch, bowling, solving a tricky cross-word puzzle, playing board games, and listening to her favorite oldies tunes. One of her greatest loves was her nursing career of over 40 years where she exhibited warmth, kindness, and compassion to her patients and their families. She is deeply cherished and missed by all her knew her.

A celebration of life is being held at Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, VA on Saturday, December 20th, and the family is accepting visitors at their home immediately following, for fellowship and light refreshments. 26 Harpers Mill Way, Lovettsville, VA.
