Mark Everest Ronlov (1974-2025)

Mark lived his life full of love for Jesus and in service to others. He was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, a beloved son and an active community member. Mark Everest Ronlov, 51, of Leesburg, VA, died due to complications from lung cancer on October 15, 2025. He truly died with extraordinary grace.

He was born in Boulder, Colorado on February 22, 1974 to Steen Ronlov and Marilyn Naylor. He spent many summers of his childhood in Grand Lake, Colorado sailing, winning sailing competitions and teaching sailing. He moved to Virginia during his middle school years when his mother married Frank Naylor. Mark attended Broad Run High School before studying international business at James Madison University where he met the love of his life, Kalpana and made lifelong friends. He spent his entire career selling computers. First, he worked at the James Madison University Bookstore, then Best Buy, Circuit City, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Map R and finally, NVIDIA. Even through his various careers, he always embodied a legacy of service, donating to charities and creating scholarships.

Mark met his love and princess, Kalpana in 1993 at James Madison University. He used to borrow her old computer while all along having a new Apple Macintosh Powerbook himself. He would talk to her while pretending to do work, but was actually playing videogames. They started dating in 1994 and were married in 1998.

Mark and Kalpana couldn't wait to start a family of their own, and their children, Nate and Zach mean the world to them. As a family, they have enjoyed traveling to places such as Mexico, India, Denmark, Norway, Greece and Italy. They are all foodies and enjoy going to the Japanese Steakhouse together as a family. Mark and his son Nate shared a love for art, music, and philosophy. Mark is who made Nate a true Renaissance man. With his son, Zach, he enjoyed traveling the country with Supernova Flag Football and watching sports, but most importantly: sharing every little cool thing they saw. He also enjoyed being a Scout dad with both of his sons' and helping them achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Mark loved his parents dearly. He enjoyed living near his mother, Marilyn, so that he could help her in any way needed. He has been proud of her accomplishments and resilience over the years. One of Mark's joys was sharing the love of the Broncos and other sports with his father, Steen, and son, Zach. The three of them shared a love for any sporting event and would text and call often.

One of Mark's biggest joys in life was hospitality. As often as possible, he chose to host any friends he could, and if anyone he knew were to be in town, he would never hesitate giving them a place to stay. He was an excellent cook and often hosted events at his home to entertain his friends and members of his church family at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia.

Mark will always be remembered for his love for God and others and his service to the community and the way that he always encouraged people to love God and others. The family remember hearing him say "It is so simple to make a difference in someone's life. Donate to pay for some schooling, make a meal, smile." Before passing, he said "Everything will work out to the glory of God".

We couldn't have asked for a better husband, father, son and friend, and will miss Mark every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 16 @ 3 pm at Cornerstone Chapel Church in Leesburg, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, you can remember Mark by donating to Heritage Farm Museum, a college scholarship of your choice or you can create your own scholarship. Mark says, "It is easier than you think".
