Adrian Sublett Obituary
92, passed away peacefully Sunday April 23, 2017 at his home in Louisville with family at his side. He was a native of Coburg, Kentuckyand was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. He was retired from Kroger after 42 years as a head meat cutter. He loved gardening and planted dozens of trees over his lifetime. He was also a skilled wood craftsman. He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, and an active member of the Middletown United Methodist Church for over 35 years. Adrian served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre at the end of World War II. One of his proudest moments was serving in headquarters when General Dwight Eisenhower came to Okinawa shortly after the war had ended.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Herman Sublett, Faye Bennett, and Winfrey "Dick" Sublett.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Ruby Sublett; son, Dr. James Sublett (Lelia); siblings, James Alford Sublett, Iva Brown, MaeKnifley (Leroy), and Raj Sublett (Geri); grandchildren, Dr. Wes Sublett (Mills), Duncan Morel (Darcy), Carrie Sublett, and Sara Sublett; great-grandchildren, CeCe Sublett, Knox Sublett, and Sawyer Morel.
A Celebration of Adrian's Life is planned at 12 noon, Saturday May 13, 2017 at his church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Rd., Middletown. Visitors may gather at 11 a.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Down Syndrome of Louisville.
