Bobby Cornett Obituary
Louisville - August 30, 1948 - December 9, 2020
Born and raised in Louisville. Bobby retired from Philip Morris USA-Lvl (Altria); relocating to Charlotte, NC summer of 2000.
During his 32+ years of working at PM USA, he held various mgt jobs in Cigarette Mfg.
In Charlotte, Bobby was a substitute math teacher and golf coach at Martin Middle School. In 2005, he and his wife opened The UPS Store at Concord Mills.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: a wife, Karen Cooper Cornett; daughter, Erin Rose Cornett-Strewe (Christian); son, Dondi Joe Cornett; two sisters: Morilyn Kaye Cornett and Marcheita Cornett McKinley (Bill), a niece, two nephews, 3 grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either: American Heart or Diabetes Association.
Open visitation will be held, Friday, December 18th from 10AM - Noon at A.D. Porter & Sons (1300 West Chestnut St.). A private (invitation only) funeral will follow. To view the live stream go to adporters.com. The burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery (4623 Preston Hwy). Masks and social distancing requirements will be strictly enforced.

Our family just learnt about Bobbie’s passing. Our most sincere condolences to Karen and the children. Bobbie will be remembered as a wonderful man whose smile could lit up the room. We were his customers for many years. A wonderful honorable man, we will miss his smile and kindness to everyone. Our thoughts and prayers for Karen and the whole family. We are honored to have met Bobbie.

I’ve only just learned of Bobby’s passing.
To know Bobby is to love him.
I’ve cared for Bobby since he and Karen moved here in 2000 and I will miss seeing him every 4mos. I will miss his sweet smile and servant-nature at their UPS store. However, I KNOW I will see him in Eternity

He was such a nice man and always seemed happy to help. He is the reason I go to UPS at Concord Mills. I'm so sorry for his loss and my condolences to his family.

So sad to hear this! Mr . Cornett was such a wonderful person! Always had a smile. I had the pleasure of meeting him and working with as a staff member at James Martin Middle. Prayers for peace and comfort for his family.

I was very sad to hear of Bobby’s passing, so much so my tears flowed. Such a kind and gracious man. I will miss him every time I visit his and Karen’s UPS Store. Godspeed Bobby!

My condolences to Karen and the Cornett family. I met Bobby in the UPS store years ago. He notarized many things for me over the years-and in the process I came to know him. What a sweet person. He loved his family immensely and always had a story and a smile. Prayers for his family.

I had the honor of working along side both Bobby and Karen for many years. I am blessed to have known them. Bobby always, always illuminated every meeting be it in a formal setting or in the hallway. He truly was a uplifting man. My best wishes go to Karen, a remarkable woman and a great companion to our friend Bobby.

Karen, it truly saddened me to hear of Bobby's passing. I didn't have that many dealings with him but he was always good to work with whenever we had a project to figure out. Remember the good times you two had together, you're in my prayers at this time of sorrow.

A good man. I worked with Bobby for many years. We had many laughs together. Bobby loved his sports especially basketball. I believe in his mind he felt that he could actually PLAY the game. I had to remind him often that he was delusional. It saddens me to reflect upon his passing. My condolences to Karen and the rest of the family.
