Louisville - Charles W. "Bill" Lockett, Jr., 93, Louisville, entered Eternal Life, on October 27, 2018.
Bill was born in Louisville to the late Charles and Marie Lockett. He spent his career as a talented auto body repairman and was a proud veteran of World War II, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Bill was a long-time member at St. Pius Catholic Church and a life member of the NRA as well.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Lockett; his parents; and his grandson, Patrick Lockett.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Lockett (Kathy); his daughter, Kathy Redmon (John); his granddaughter, Samantha Goldsmith (Josh); his great-grandchildren, Noah and Savannah Goldsmith; and his siblings, Philip Lockett (Mary), Catherine Ann Taylor, Mary Francis Lockett, Sally McGyver, Nancy Kleier (Jerry), and Robert Lockett (Leslie).
Funeral Mass for Bill will take place on Friday, November 2 at 10 AM at St. John Paul II, 3521 Goldsmith Lane. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1 from 2-8 PM at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Burial will follow the Mass at Evergreen Cemetery.

I just spoke with L.J. Hankins and we were discussing my father-in-law Floyd Goff who was a trap shooter when I asked if he knew Bill Lockett. He shared that he had recently passed away. I always enjoyed speaking with Bill after church. He would usually save the programs that had my father-in-law's name inside and bring it to my husband or I after church. My dad passed away nearly 2 years ago so I returned to my home parish. Bill was always a very KIND and gentle person. I am sorry to hear that he has transitioned from this planet. Peace be with each of you who mourn.

I'll miss this guy very much and relish the memories of our childhood days. He was a great brother and I was very proud of him and his accomplishments. My warmest thoughts and condolences go out to his family Kathy and Bruce. God bless you and rest in peace.
